Why Arc & Root Exists
Too many organizations are founded by mission-driven leaders who want to solve complex community issues. Without the resources, knowledge, or connections needed to strengthen their foundations, those missions remain at risk.
13% of nonprofit organizations close their doors within the first 5 years.
30% within 10 years.
Arc & Root exists to help organizations stay alive.

The Question That Started It All
Could an unemployed, single mother go back to college 100% debt-free?
In 2014, I was unemployed, raising young children, and barely surviving life with a 9th-grade education. Food stamps, Medicaid, jobs that never lasted long, and a burning desire to find a path forward caused me to think outside the box for a solution. One that would change my life forever.
My oldest was nearing high school, and I knew something had to change. Attempting college in early adulthood didn't work without support, funding, or knowledge that seemed so far out of reach. Earning a living took precedence over my desire to earn a degree. So how would it work now? Systems. I knew exactly how systems worked by the age of 27, and realized that with the right strategy, anything is possible.
How can I leave the workforce to go to school and re-enter it without the crippling chains of student loan debt? The only path forward is securing enough funding to pay for my education.
A flicker of hope and a simple Google search for "scholarship" changed my life. The rest is history.
As I learned how to navigate funding systems, I taught others what I discovered. One strategy became a result. One result motivated more strategies. More strategies produced more results for others. Once a leader among students, and now a leader among nonprofits.
Today, I provide nonprofit consulting through Arc & Root Funding Co., and assist mission-driven leaders in building strong fundable organizations, submitting competitive grant proposals, strengthening programs, and creating lasting impact.
Because funding is a human experience.
